About Norva

Norva is a small independent online shop run from Sainte Luce, Martinique — a French overseas department and part of the European Union. We sell practical things for the home and garden: jewellery storage and display, solar outdoor lighting, and a small number of storage and outdoor-kit items.

How we actually work

We think you should know how a shop operates before you buy from it, so here it is without the marketing gloss.

Norva is a curation business, not a manufacturer. We do not make what we sell and we do not hold warehouse stock of our own. We select products from manufacturing partners, most of them based in mainland China, and when you place an order it is dispatched to you directly from that partner's fulfilment centre. Our work is in choosing what goes on the site, writing descriptions that describe the product honestly, setting the prices, and handling your order and any problem that comes with it.

Two things follow from that model, and we would rather you hear them from us:

Delivery takes longer than a domestic retailer. Typically 6–16 business days after dispatch, depending on where you are. Our Shipping Policy gives the full breakdown.
Import charges can apply. Because parcels arrive from outside the EU, customs may levy import VAT or duty. That is set by your government, not by us, and it is not included in our prices.

If a faster delivery or a duty-free parcel is what you need, a local retailer will serve you better than we can, and we would rather say so than take an order you end up regretting.

What we try to do well

Choose carefully. Describe accurately — if a stand is plastic, we say plastic. Price openly, with shipping costs and thresholds stated before checkout rather than revealed at the last step. And answer email properly when something goes wrong, which is the part most shops of our size get wrong.
